Rainbows in Autumn

One of my favorite things about the weather getting colder is the opportunity to wear lovely oversized sweaters.  My most recent find is a rainbow wool men's sweater I scored at a rummage sale in Los Altos.

I added a dainty lace headband to offset the more masculine tone of the sweater, and wore it with skinny jeans and oxfords to add a sharper more defined look to contrast my bulky upper half.  And I topped it off with my most recent eBay find - a quilted leather shoulder bag.  Perfection.
Second hand I bought:
sweater - $1 from a rummage sale
quilted purse - $25 from eBay
Other:
flats by Office Girl
jeans by Topshop
lace headband from Etsy

Rosy Cheeks

At a recent rummage sale I found this romper...

Not only do I not have the body type to pull off rompers (believe me, I've tried), but this one is pretty ugly too, let's be real.  I loved the pattern though (I'm a total sucker for the English rose look), and thought it would be a shame to let it go to waste.  I figured, if I get rid of the top half, these would make pretty decent DIY pj shorts!

Here they are!  It took about two minutes to rip the seam and cut off the buttons at the pockets.  Comfy and lovely as can be!

The Peter Pan Collar

I don't jump on trends too quickly, just because they then go out of style in a season.  However, I saw this Dorothy Perkins shirt (yes, it's supposed to be a shirt) at a rummage sale last week, and thought I could totally make it work.  I added a belt, and here it is - my own second hand spin on the Peter Pan collar.

Second hand I bought:
dress/shirt by Dorothy Perkins, $1
Other:
belt from Urban Outfitters, shoes from Primark
