A Wedding
Over the weekend I attended a wedding near Yosemite for one of my sister's good friends. My sister was a bridesmaid (see the amazing dress she got to wear below) and I got to sing in the wedding! Lots of fun.
I let myself splurge on a new dress for the wedding - it's from Closet Clothing, a London based designer (of course). I feel like a vintage princess in this dress.

Confession: I haven't done laundry in weeks, and I'm very impressed that I managed to throw together a clean outfit with patriotic colors (minus the white). And in keeping with the second hand nature of this blog, both the tank and shorts were hand me downs from my friends!

I really liked what my sister is wearing today, so I snapped a few photos of her as well. I am in love with this little backless chambray dress - it's a perfect outfit for the 90 degree day we're having. If it goes missing from her closet... I am definitely the most likely culprit.

Spring Skirt
I took to eBay in search of a new spring skirt, and was not disappointed. eBay is a great (and dangerous!) source for used clothing, but the important thing about eBay is to make sure the item is listed under the "used" category, because I've noticed that companies are now using eBay to sell their (new) items. Tricky tricky when you're working really hard to only buy second hand clothing.

White Peplum
I'm not normally one to jump on trends (it normally doesn't go over so well... I'm thinking of you, rompers!) but I saw a lovely little linen tank at Goodwill recently with very subtle peplum, so I figured I'd give it a go. Lo and behold, I'm in love! This shirt has quickly turned into one of my favorite pieces.

Flea Market
This past weekend my sister and I went to our local flea market just to browse. I haven't been to a market in ages, and loved it. I ended up walking away with quite a few books and two earrings, for a grand total of $8.

DIY Boot Socks
Given the unbelievable cold weather, I've taken to unusual precautions to bundle up. I was inspired by a post I saw on Pinterest to attempt a go at making boot socks out of old sweaters. Here's my take on the DIY project!
Step 1: Find a sweater you feel ok cutting up. I found this wool one at Goodwill for a couple bucks.
Step 2: Cut off the sleeves. Be sure to make them longer than you think they should be - it's better to have to cut off more than be stuck with socks that could stick out of your boots in the back.
Voila! I'm in love. They're ridiculously warm, being wool and all, and look lovely.
The Christmas Goods

For a Christmas party last night, I pulled out one of my favorite dresses - a thrifted Reiss dress, with a bit of a flapper girl vibe. I found it at the ever inspiring Brick Lane market, for one steal of a deal. It's an XL, but I do love the oversized look, which helps to hint at the roaring twenties.
