Harry Potter in Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a really tiny and really beautiful city! Julia and I spent most of our time walking around the city and exploring, so naturally our time there turned into a quest to see everything Harry Potter related. We went to the cafe where JK wrote Harry Potter, which overlooks the graveyard where she has mentioned she got many of the character's names from. This trip is really turning into a big Harry Potter adventure!

Durham

A few days ago Julia Alex and I went to Durham to visit the Durham Cathedral - where Harry Potter was filmed!

Look familiar? (Hint - only the first two movies were filmed here.)

There was a giant graveyard at the entrance of the cathedral.

Stained glass on the inside.

View from the train station - it's a really beautiful town.

Everyone is in post-Jubilee/pre-Olypics spirit!

Just Because You Have the Emotional Range of a Teaspoon Doesn't Mean We All Do

Today was the London premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 at Trafalgar Square (Must.  Go.  Back.) Needless to say, the girls sported knockout gowns, and the guys looked adorable and British as ever.

Evanna Lynch simply smoldering.

On a side note, I feel like a huge chapter of my childhood is ending.  I find it so appropriate that the 7th book came out after my senior year in high school, and the final movie is premiering after I've just graduated college.  I've literally grown up with these characters, and this story is fully ingrained in my soul.

For a good sob, this is a must-watch.

With Harry Potter ending, I feel like this:

But despite it all, as Jo said, "Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."
